I absolutely love lilacs, but the poor little lilac tree in my front yard isn’t doing very well. Probably because I’m a better crafter than I am a gardner.
When I saw this Lilac Cluster die from Cottage Cutz, I just had to have it. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed after trying it out because I was expecting a bit more dimension to the die, so it sat in my collection for quite a while before I got an idea on how to enhance it.
I cut out the base stem and lilac shapes using the die and a few shades of purple cardstock. Then I grabbed a small flower punch from EK Success which popped out these cute little five petal flowers. Using a shaping tool on each flower and a dot of glue, I stuck each one down on top of the cluster die base and presto – dimension!
This card might be a bit challenging to try and mail without flattening the flowers, but I have lots of friends to hand deliver notes to!
